HOW DOES COVID-19 AFFECT YOUR CROSSING?
In order to ensure that you have a good crossing over the Baltic Sea, BORNHOLMSLINJEN has introduced a number of measures to protect both passengers and crews from the current challenge posed by COVID-19.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, BORNHOLMSLINJEN has adjusted its capacity.
There are further details below about how the coronavirus situation may affect your crossings.
FACE COVERING REQUIREMENT ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT
REMEMBER YOUR FACE COVERING
Starting 22nd of August, the authorities have made mask wearing mandatory on all public transport. This includes on BORNHOLMSLINJEN ferries.
You will therefore be required to have your own mask or face covering with you and to wear it while you are on the ferry. You must wear your face covering for the duration of the crossing, but may take it off while eating or drinking. You can also buy a face mask on board the ferries.
The face covering requirement does not apply to children under 12 years of age, to persons with breathing difficulties, impaired consciousness, or those with physical or mental handicaps who are unable to remove the face covering themselves.

Initiatives to make you feel safe
Denmark is cautiously reopening. As is BORNHOLMSLINJEN. This means that we have more passengers on our ferries – but it does not mean that we fill the ferries up.
We would be grateful if you would follow our general advice on preventing infection and show consideration for your fellow passengers on the crossing.
We still make every effort to keep things very clean on board our ferries, and we disinfect surfaces. We have also set up signs to remind everyone of our good advice. We help you help each other.
Get tested for coronavirus
Voluntary coronavirus test for tourists
As a tourists on Bornholm, you can now get testet for corona upon arrival.
At Bornholm you have the option to be testet for covid-19 all days between 9 am and 5 pm.
You’ll find the test station at Ullasvej 39C in Rønne.

Stay in your vehicle during the crossing
What to do if you are in a special risk group.
If you have a particular need to protect yourself from COVID-19, we have made an exception and are allowing passengers to stay in their vehicles during the crossing. You can stay in your vehicle if you are ill or suffering from COVID-19 or if you are in a special risk group due to your age or state of health.
For permission to stay in your vehicle on the car deck, you must request this when you book your ticket – or call our customer service on +4570900100. If you have already booked your ticket, you can add this option to your reservation on the website under ‘Change ticket’.
The option to stay in your vehicle only applies to the Rønne-Ystad route and not to Rønne-Køge, Rønne-Sassnitz or departures on Povl Anker.
If you have chosen to stay in the car during the crossing, you must be checked in at least 30 minutes before departure.
Space on the car deck is limited, and you should note that the car deck is not a pleasant to be in cold weather or rough seas.
Please note that you are not permitted to leave your vehicle at any time during the crossing without contacting a member of the crew. This applies to all passengers in the vehicle.
If you have not booked ‘Stay in vehicle’ before you board, you must stay on the passenger deck during the crossing.
In the event of bad weather, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation to stay in your car on the car deck.
Note: Even if you are staying in your car, you must bring a mask in case it should be necessary to leave your car.
