How does COVID-19 affect your crossing?

In order to ensure that you have a good crossing over the Baltic, BORNHOLMSLINJEN has introduced a number of measures to protect both passengers and crews from the current challenge posed by COVID-19.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, BORNHOLMSLINJEN has adapted our capacity on board. This makes it easier for passengers to observe physical distancing on board.

It also means that we have had to make changes to the timetable. If your departure is affected by the changes, you will receive a text message from us with relevant information.

There are further details below about how the coronavirus situation may affect your crossings.

Four initiatives to make you feel safe

Your safety is of the utmost importance to all of us at BORNHOLMSLINJEN. For this reason, we have launched four special initiatives to make you feel extra safe.

1. Extra space on board. We have adapted our capacity on board to the COVID-19 situation to ensure plenty of space between people.

2. High standard of hygiene. We have extra staff on all departures to ensure high cleaning standards. We disinfect tables, chairs, etc. before, during and after departure.

3. We travel together – separately. We have set up distance markers to help people keep their distance from others.

4. Stay in your vehicle. If it is particularly important to you to avoid being close to other people on the crossing, you can stay in your vehicle on the car deck. Simply add this to your reservation on the website under 'Change ticket'. If you have not booked a space on the car deck before your departure, you can choose it on the automat when you check in. However, we cannot guarantee you a space if you have not booked in advance, since only a limited number og spaces are available. Please note that this only applies to the Rønne-Ystad route, and not to Rønne-Køge, Rønne-Sassnitz or departures with Povl Anker.

BORNHOLMSLINJEN is lifting all restrictions on tickets

What to do if you have booked a crossing on BORNHOLMSLINJEN for between 23 March and 31 August.

Due to the Danish government’s announcement of extended restrictions, BORNHOLMSLINJEN is now lifting all restrictions on all tickets for crossings from 23 March up to and including 31 August.

Standard tickets are refundable, but Low-price and Flex tickets cannot be refunded, as per our terms of business. However, if you have purchased this type of ticket for the above-mentioned period, you can rebook free of charge to a different departure at any time during the rest of 2020.

As usual, if the ticket is changed to a departure which is more expensive than the original, the difference in price must be paid.

Please note that the ticket must be changed prior to the original departure time.

If the ticket is for a crossing on a date after the period specified above, our standard terms of business apply. You will find further details about these here.
